What is Rosacea?
What do Mariah Carey, Bill Clinton, W. C. Fields and Rosie O'Donnell all have in common? They, like millions of other people have rosacea.
Rosacea is something that many people in the world deal with on a daily basis. They have times in which they are having flare ups of the rosacea, while other times, they simply have nothing. But, rosacea is always there lying and waiting for the next time that it will rear its ugly head. Those that have rosacea are going to find that there are many different stages of rosacea that is going to affect their skin. The most common that people think of when they hear the word 'rosacea' is the redness that is going to occur on the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin area. Most people would say that it looks as though the person has a severe wind burn.
After a while of this, rosacea can turn into pimples and other bumps that are going to make the skin appear uneven. This is going to lead to another stage of rosacea that involves the skin hardening in areas and becoming thick looking, and this can even lead to the person have rosacea that concentrates around the eyes and becomes an eye irritant for the person and can lead to vision problems.
So what is rosacea? It is a skin disorder that leads to a lot of pain for the people who suffer from this condition. They may experience physical pain with itching and burning of the skin, while also finding that the eye problems could result in even more pain. However, there is the emotional pain that the person has to consider as well. The person with rosacea is very self conscious with their looks and they may find that they avoid certain situations because they are afraid of what people are going to say about their looks and so forth. The good news is that rosacea is treatable and those that do get treated are usually very happy in the long run that they did so since they can spare themselves some of the pain that they may feel with this disorder.
